What exposure settings did you use for this photo (aperture, shutter, and ISO)?

ISO 1600 Shutter Speed 1/40 Aperture F/5.0

How do these objects represent you today?

The book in the top left book is something special to myself and my family. We place any photos taken from past vacations in this book. It represents who I am because I am adventurous and I love to travel. Second are my records. Music is one of my favorite things. It represents that I love both vintage and current music. We can get the vintage feeling from the idea of me using records and my love for current music by the artists I have (Khalid, 2 Chainz, Justin Bieber). Next, we have my medals. These medals represent the athlete within me. Growing up, I had always loved sports. The sport I played for more than eight years is volleyball. These medals are few of the many that I have collected from winning a tournament. Fourth, we have my glasses. They represent who I am, not only because I have poor vision, but because I see the world in a simple way. I choose to look at the positivity surrounding my community and I have an optimistic look at things. Lastly, I have my computer. This represents who I am because I am both hardworking and I love technology.

What is the best aspect/what do you like best about your image?

What I love most about my image is the simplicity within it. I did not try to make anything too complicated, and although I could've done more, the simplicity of the image is another thing that represents who I am.

List at least two compositional elements that you used and why.

1) Birds-Eye View
  • This captured all the objects I had placed in the photo. (Gives you a better perspective)

2) Leading Lines
  • The lines on the table help guide you through the objects.

What lighting source did you choose and why? How does it affect the mood/meaning of the image?

The lighting source I used was the window. It gave my photo a light light that was not too harsh. It brought in enough enough life so that it wasn't overexposed or underexposed.

What could you improve upon?

I could improve on my placement on the items and use a tripod.

Ten years from now do you think you will choose the same objects? Why or why not?

Yes because I will always love traveling, love music, play and love volleyball, have bad vision, love technology, and will forever continue to be a hard-worker.
