What challenges did you encounter photographing and editing this image?
One challenge I encountered was attempting to fit everything into the lens of the camera. The location I went to had many people, and it was challenging to take the photo while everyone was passing through the shot. While editing, I found it difficult to match the tones. There were places in my image where it was very exposed and different parts of the image where it was underexposed. Editing was the general challenge because I had to keep restarting everything and begin editing from scratch.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I was able to overcome these difficulties by remaining patient. Although it took time, I was able to photograph a shot that could be used as a landscape photo. Even though it was challenging trying to take a shot with people everywhere, I would shoot from various viewpoints.
How did you add depth to your image?
I consolidated depth within my image by incorporating all the tonal ranges. Furthermore, I added a foreground, middle ground, and background. With all of these, I was able to take a photo that was well composed and had depth within it.
Do you like your image in black and white or color more?
The Alamo Square in San Francisco features the homes used in the television show Full House. The colors circling the area made the image pop. For me, I admire my image with color rather than black and white. The colors add a narrative and contribute another point of how San Francisco is an incredible and vivid place.
What would you do differently if you did it again?/What would make it better
I adored the area where I took my photo, yet if I could do something differently, it would be the time of when I took the photo. In the image, my sky was bland. If I were able to go later in the evening, I would've been able to capture the sunset. This would've provided more details within the image.
